Work with GlobeBusters

GlobeBusters are expanding.  Since we offered our first expedition in 2005 we have grown significantly.  In 2011 we will operate six separate expeditions.  These include two shorter Explorer Trips, an Overland Expedition Trans Canada and three Epic Expeditions – Discover Our Earth, Trans Americas and Silk Road East.   In total we will have expeditions out on the road totalling 14 months next year alone.

This is as busy as we ever want to be.  Our company goal is not to be Thomas Cook, but to continue to be the World’s Leading Overland Motorcycle Expedition Company.  This means that to remain close to all our customers and for us still to be able to enjoy regularly travelling with them we choose to remain as a small company.  Our ethos of providing a genuine overland experience and of personal service and care has not changed.   We take people on amazing journeys to unusual destinations.  However with the growing demands on our small team we need to recruit one person to complete our team.  We are seeking an

Support Crew

GlobeBusters are expanding and have several new and exciting epic expeditions in the coming years and so we are looking for a small number of additional support crew. We get lots of enquiries about joining the team here. However as the old adage says, many apply but few are chosen. If you are serious then please be aware that our Expedition Leaders are not full time employees but work on a freelance basis undertaking one or two expeditions a year from 5 weeks to 8 months. We have very stringent standard for our support crew. If you think joining GlobeBusters sounds like a nice easy way to see parts of the world you haven’t been to and get paid in the process then you are not the person for us.

Our support crew are made up of experienced travellers. They have experienced travel in remote places including third, and developing, world countries. Some have operated as support crew on international rallies such as the Dakar and Rally Tunisia. They have crossed borders, negotiated with bandits and policemen, dealt with medical and motorcycle emergencies. They can think on their feet and remain calm in an emergency or in the face of change or challenge. While doing so they understand that the experience of our customers is key. Understanding the social dynamics of the group and managing, leading and looking after our clients remains at the forefront of their minds. Our minimum requirements for expedition support crew

  • RoSPA Advanced Rider Training Qualified (Gold Pass)
  • Off Road Skills Training or Demonstrate significant off road experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency with use of technology such as
  • Mechanical Training or Demonstrate motorcycle mechanical knowledge and experience

The GlobeBusters Expedition Support Crew Training is a three day training course which we run annually from our offices in South Wales. All crew are required to complete the training prior to going on any expedition. The training course is not available to persons other than staff. If you wish to join our professional and experience Expedition Team then please send in a copy of you CV or Resume and details of:

  • Riding Experience both on and off road
  • Leadership Experience – groups and individuals
  • Travels – where in the world have you been and are passionate about

We look forward to hearing from you. If you believe that you can fulfil this role then please e mail a covering letter and your CV to Richard Millington at Richard@globebusters.com

Why work with us?

GlobeBusters are a Limited Company.  We are very proud that our professionalism has earned us recognition from leading companies such as BMW and Touratech.   GlobeBusters are official travel partners to both of these companies.   BMW UK and BMW AG in Germany support our Expeditions and feature GlobeBusters in their official publications and at events such as BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch.   We also work closely with Touratech both in the UK and Germany and are the only Travel Partner featured by them and represented on their website.

The second arm of GlobeBusters is BMW Rider Training.  We operate the BMW Motorcycle Rider Training School under contract from BMW for the whole of the United Kingdom.   The school operates from premises shared with GlobeBusters in South Wales.

GlobeBusters are a small, friendly, family based company.  We don’t offer company cars (or bikes) and nor do we have a final salary pension scheme or BUPA.   What we do offer is the opportunity to work in a company delivering customers dreams, a great working environment in a company that hasn’t forgotten that it is important to enjoy work and have some fun.
